How to write a clear detailing quote

A good quote gives the client a shared understanding of the job before you start. Begin with your business name, the client’s name and the vehicle or property you will work on. Explain the service in plain language: “interior detail” can mean very different things to different clients. Put the actual agreed work in writing.

Separate the work into useful line items

List interior cleaning, exterior wash, paint correction and ceramic coating separately when they are separate services. Include travel, materials or an agreed add-on as its own line. Use the quantity and rate that match your work. Do not copy sample prices as a rate guide; your vehicle inspection, time, products and travel costs should inform the amount.

Agree on scope and payment terms

Say what is included, what is excluded and when you expect to finish. Note whether heavy staining, pet hair or extra correction requires a revised quote. Review generated wording before sending it: an AI draft is not a contract or legal advice, and it should not invent warranties or commitments.

Tell the client when payment is due and which payment method you accept before the job. If you request a deposit, state how it applies to the final balance. Make cancellation terms clear and fair. Keep a copy of the agreed wording so both sides can refer to it if the scope changes.
